If you visit Stone Town, spend an hour navigating the Darajani Market for an amazing experience and to observe the local lifestyle. The shopping strip is a fun walk, and as it is mostly frequented by locals it is full of colour and various items that include fruit, vegetables, spices, traditional clothes and local products from all over the island. Do not miss the raw meat and fish market and, most importantly, the fish auction – if you get there early in the morning, you are most likely to see a big catch! This is a truly authentic experience and one of the best things to do on the island.
